Traits

There are 6 sections into which all Chirazza traits are organized: Facial structure, ears, body structure, tail, arms, and legs. Additionally, each trait has one of three rarities: Common, uncommon, and rare.

You can view a breakdown of the species' traits in the visual guides below. MYO, custom, and adoptable designs must follow these guides.

About the Chirazza Species

General Information

Chirazza are believed to be long-lost descendants of the Therizinosaurus species.

Diet

Chirazza are a primarily herbivorous species. Flowers, berries, seeds, nuts, and foliage make up a healthy diet for a Chirazza. Roses, raspberries, dandelions, and blueberries are delicacies for the species. They are by no means picky eaters, however; In times of hardship they will resort to carnivorous behavior to survive. A Chirazza that feeds primarily on other animals will not live for long, however, as their digestive systems are not well-equipped to process meat.

Lifespan and Size

Chirazza grow and develop very quickly, reaching full maturity by age three. They have lifespans similar to that of a cat. Most live to be thirteen or fourteen, though some specimens can live for up to twenty years. A Chirazza is in prime condition between ages three and seven. As they age past seven, their body tends to weaken and their claws become brittle with age. Due to this, flock leaders are traditionally replaced every several years. Chirazza beyond the age of seven retire from their work to become "elders."

Below are size charts for the different body types in the species. Note that sizes and weights can vary between individuals; These are only averages meant to give an understanding of the species' scale. Length is measured from the tip of the beak to the base of where the tail would start, because Chirazza have a wide range of tail types that all have differing lengths.

Domestic body structure:
Length (beak to hindquarters): 2ft / 61cm
Height (when standing tall on hind legs): 3ft / 91 cm
Weight (when fully-grown): 25lbs / 11kg

Pygmy body structure:

Length (beak to hindquarters): 6in / 15cm
Height (when standing tall on hind legs): 8in / 20cm
Weight (when fully-grown): 5lbs / 2kg

Brute body structure:

Length (beak to hindquarters): 4ft / 123cm
Height (when standing tall on hind legs): 5ft / 152cm
Weight (when fully-grown): 80lbs / 36kg
Brute Chirazza have very dense bones and more muscle mass than individuals with other body types. Due to this, they are far heavier than other Chirazza.

Habitat

Chirazza prefer the safety and security of lush forests to make their homes in. However, more nomadic flocks tend to make bases in valleys and mountainous regions during their travels. They are able to survive anywhere they have access to water and foliage to feed on.

Social Dynamics

Chirazza have very complex social structures within their flocks. In a single flock, there are dozens of different "working" positions, and several more accomodating the youngest and eldest members. Chirazza young (known as "Razzlings") are often guarded by flock elders until they are old enough to begin working. There are several different positions an adult can take in the flock, including medicine, territory defense, foraging, grooming, and shelter upkeep. Elders of the flock live out the remainder of their lives in relaxation. Their only duties involve supervising the flock's young, and occational assistance with upkeep of flock nests.

A single Chirazza tends to serve as the flock's figurehead and leader. This Chirazza is known by the flock as the "Alpha." This position can be filled by any gender or class, though specimens of the brute class most commonly fill the role. The Alpha asserts order within their flock, and is the final say in most decisions. Alphas will remain in power until they die, are seriously injured, or until they lose against a challenger attempting to claim power.
